Just about any fabricator will tell you, when it comes to contact cement adhesives, Barge is king. I’ve tried a bunch of different brands and Barge is, hands down, the best. It is especially amazing for working with EVA foam.
It used to be that you could only get this handy stuff at specialty stores, but you can now buy Barge cement on Amazon. I like the 1 quart can that comes with it’s own brush. You can also get Barge thinner. This is extremely helpful for re-doing anything that you’ve cemented down.
Barge is amazing for getting really clean seam lines when working with EVA foam. Simply apply the cement to your cut edges, let it dry for about 5-10 minutes, then press the edges together for a nice, clean finish! That bond will be stronger than the foam itself. Go grab a can and have some fun!
Note: Be sure to work in a well ventilated area and wear a respirator if you get stunk out by the smell. This is some high-grade industrial stuff and it does not mess around.
