Foamsmith Tools and Materials

For starters, you only need foam, a sharp knife, and hot glue. But why stop there? Here’s a list of tools and materials for your foams crafting needs!

After you’ve crafted your foam masterpiece, you can move straight to paint. However, if your foam is going to flex, or bump into things, you may want to seal your foam to stop paint from flaking off. To choose your sealant, consider if your prop will bend and flex. Epsilon and Wood Glue provide sandable, smooth finishes, but will crack if flexed. Plasti Dip and Latex are flexible, but can’t be sanded. Always test your sealant and paint application on a scrap piece of foam first!
